چکیده

Existing research in crowdsourcing has investigated how to recommend tasks to workers based on which task the workers have already completed, referred to as implicit feedback. We, on the other hand, investigate the task recommendation problem, where we leverage both implicit feedback and explicit features of the task. We assume that we are given a set of workers, a set of tasks, interactions (such as the number of times a worker has completed a particular task), and the presence of explicit features of each task (such as, task location). We intend to recommend tasks to the workers by exploiting the implicit interactions, and the presence or absence of explicit features in the tasks. We formalize the problem as an optimization problem, propose two alternative problem formulations and respective solutions that exploit implicit feedback, explicit features, as well as similarity between the tasks. We compare the efficacy of our proposed solutions against multiple state-of-the-art techniques using two large scale real world datasets.

Signals in the Silence: Models of Implicit Feedback in a Recommendation System for Crowdsourcing

We exploit the absence of signals as informative observations in the context of providing task recommendations in crowdsourcing. Workers on crowdsourcing platforms do not provide explicit ratings about tasks. We present methods that enable a system to leverage implicit signals about task preferences. These signals include types of tasks that have been available and have been displayed, and the ...

Perform Three Data Mining Tasks with Crowdsourcing Process

For data mining studies, because of the complexity of doing feature selection process in tasks by hand, we need to send some of labeling to the workers with crowdsourcing activities. The process of outsourcing data mining tasks to users is often handled by software systems without enough knowledge of the age or geography of the users' residence. Uncertainty about the performance of virtual user...

A Novel Task Recommendation Model for Mobile Crowdsourcing Systems

With the developments of sensors in mobile devices, mobile crowdsourcing systems are attracting more and more attention. How to recommend user-preferred and trustful tasks for users is an important issue to improve efficiency of mobile crowdsourcing systems. This paper proposes a novel task recommendation model for mobile crowdsourcing systems. Considering both user similarity and task similari...

Implicit and Explicit Instruction and EFL Learners’ Implicit Knowledge Development: Evidence from Word Monitoring Task

Research on the effect of implicit and explicit instruction on developing learners’ explicit knowledge by the use of measures of explicit knowledge abounds in the literature. However, measuring learners’ implicit knowledge employing fine-grained measures has rarely been the concern of researchers in the field. Therefore, the present study is an attempt to scrutinize the effectiveness of implici...

An online-updating algorithm on probabilistic matrix factorization with active learning for task recommendation in crowdsourcing systems

*Correspondence: [email protected] Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, NT, Hong Kong, China Abstract Background: To ensure the output quality, current crowdsourcing systems highly rely on redundancy of answers provided by multiple workers with varying expertise, however massive redundancy is very expensive and time-consuming. Task re...
